With the maturity and popularity of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, related technical standards have also been numerous, so different manufacturers and devices using different standards have always had difficulty integrating them. We have established national standards for communication protocols of smart home to ensure the compatibility and interoperability of smart home products. In order to expand the application of smart energy, it also integrates communication at the home end of smart meters, enabling smart home devices to reduce electricity consumption for utility’s demand response. The smart home products including smart appliance, smart home gateway, and home network adaptor with different brands should be verified by the test standards to make sure the interoperability. This report describes the smart home product development tools, product certification test methods and tools of the smart home IoT communication protocol standard, and the technology of integrating the smart meter.
