Technology for developing coffee grounds as functional feed additives

After the solid-state fermentation process, the metabolized by-products with selected strains using used coffee grounds as raw material have natural bacteriostatic compounds with three primary functions: 1. Improve economic animals’ gastrointestinal function and synergy effects with digestive enzymes and probiotics. 2. Effectively inhibit pathogenic bacteria, especially E. coli. and mycoplasma 3. Improve feed conversion ratio and increase the daily weight gain of poultry weaned pigs. In the process of coffee beans harvesting, roasting and brewing, large amount of insoluble coffee grounds are produced. In the livestock industry, KGBio aims to improve the production efficiency based on precision nutrition feeding formula, and animal nutrition and preventive medicine principle. The healthy animal is the first step in the food supply and safety chain. Only by providing healthy animals at the source can provide the consumers a peace of mind while consuming the final food products.
